Terms of use
Last updated September 24, 2026 · Draft, pending legal review
These terms cover your use of Hobby Register at hobbyregister.com. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
What Hobby Register is
Hobby Register is a free register of reported facts about trading cards: reports, sightings, conflicting records and grader cert status, each with its date and the evidence on file. It shows what was reported and what evidence exists. It doesn't certify that a card is authentic, who owns it, or its condition, and it doesn't rule on anyone's conduct. “Clear” means no reports were found as of the date shown; it isn't a guarantee.
Using the site
Anyone can check a card, read card pages and shared reports. Filing a report, disputing one, adding your own photos, registering a card you own and watching a card need a verified email address. Keep access to that address; it's how we reach you about your reports.
What you submit
- You're responsible for the accuracy of what you submit. Report only what you know, and include the evidence you have.
- Describe the card and what happened. Don't name or describe sellers, buyers or anyone else in details or photos.
- Upload only photos you took or have the right to share. Photograph the card only.
- Don't submit anyone's personal information, including your own, beyond what a form asks for.
False reports
Knowingly false or misleading reports are removed, and the account that filed them is blocked. A report that turns out to be mistaken can be closed by its reporter or resolved by a moderator; it stays in the card's history with its outcome. Valid legal process could require us to disclose the email address behind a report.
Moderation
Moderators review reports, disputes and conflicting records. They may verify, hold, resolve or remove content, merge duplicate card pages, and ask for more information. Every moderator action is recorded. The current holder of a card can dispute a report about it from the card page; anyone else can request a review.
Permission to show your contributions
You keep ownership of what you submit. You give Hobby Register a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store it, show it on the site as described on each form (for example, a photo on a card's page after a moderator reviews it). Your name and email are never shown.
Shared reports and badges
A shared report is a dated, read-only copy of a card page, and the badge carries that date and a report code. Don't alter a badge, use it for a different card, or present it as a certification. The live card page is the current record.
Things not to do
- Harass, threaten or identify anyone through the site.
- Scrape the site, query it automatically beyond ordinary use, or work around rate limits and spam checks.
- Interfere with the site's security or anyone else's use of it.
Graders, platforms and trademarks
Hobby Register is independent. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any grading company, marketplace, league, team or player. Their names are used only to identify cards and where they were seen. Links to graders and listings go to their sites, under their own terms.
Copyright and removal
If something on the site infringes your copyright or shouldn't be there, use the removal request form.
No warranty; limits on liability
The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Records come from users, graders and platforms and may be incomplete or wrong; check the evidence and use your own judgment before buying or selling. To the fullest extent the law allows, Hobby Register isn't liable for losses arising from use of the site or reliance on its records.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
